一莲宣涟，是译廉宣廉的谐音。字面意思为一朵莲花掀起涟漪，意在通过翻译廉洁人物、廉洁故事这件事情，在学校掀起廉政建设宣传教育的新浪潮。

朴素艰苦的生活

凯丰(1906-1955),原名何克全，1906年2月出生于江西省萍乡市,1930年加入中国共产党。他时刻牢记共产党员的宗旨，对党忠诚、廉洁奉公，从不利用手中权力为自己和家人牟取私利。

1952年，凯丰经毛泽东提议进京出任中宣部副部长。动身前，秘书问他要准备什么，凯丰说：“有什么准备？革命者除了为人民打下了江山，自己就是两个肩膀扛着一个脑壳。”作为党的干部，凯丰的家当仅有几纸箱书籍，陪伴他入京的只有妻子和两个儿子。

1954年秋，何淑英去北京看望父亲。在女儿离京返家时，凯丰能够拿得出手的，竟然只有自己穿了多年的旧衣服：一件打补丁的中山装和一件破了袖口的毛衣。

凯丰把衣服装进女儿的行李袋，说道：“淑英，爸爸没钱，只能把两件好点的衣服送你，你能穿就穿，不能穿就给女婿穿吧。”

五十多年后，何淑英对那个年代的记忆仍然清晰深刻：“我爸爸没有钱，很穷很穷，那时的中央领导人都这样。我去习仲勋、陆定一、胡乔木、周扬家里串门时，看到他们都跟父亲一样，穿得非常朴素，吃得非常简单。他们家里人穿的衣服都是补丁压着补丁。”

2006年，在凯丰诞辰100周年时，《人民日报》一篇纪念凯丰的文章写道：“一生对理想坚定不移，对事业忠心耿耿，光明磊落，心胸坦荡，始终充满着旺盛的朝气，把自己的一切奉献给了党和人民。在他身上，体现出共产党人所特有的高尚品格和精神风貌”。

The Hard and Simple Life

Kai Feng (1906-1955), formerly known as He Kequan, was born in Pingxiang City, Jiangxi Province in February 1906 and he joined the Communist PartyofChinain 1930. Kai Feng always kept in mind the tenets of being a Party member, he was loyal to the Party, upright and honest and never used the power in his hands to gain personal benefits for himself and his family.

In 1952, Kai Feng was proposed by Mao Zedong to go to Beijingasthe Vice Minister of the Publicity Department. Before he left, his secretary asked him whatneededto be prepared,butKaifeng said, "There is nothing to be prepared for. The things that revolutionary have are just two shoulders carrying a brain and the mountains he has laid down for the people." As a cadre, only a few cartons of books are included as his belongings. Meanwhile, he was accompanied to the capital only by his wife and two sons.

In the autumn of 1954, He Shuying (Kai Feng’s daughter) went to visithim in Beijing. When she returned homefromBeijing, the only things she could bring were the clothes Kai Feng had worn for years: a patched Zhongshan suit and a jumper with torn cuffs.

Kaifeng put the clothes into his daughter's duffel bag and said, "Shu Ying,we are falling short, soIcan only give you tworeasonablygoodclothes.You can wear them ifthey fit you well. If not,justgive them to yourhusband."

More than 50 years later,that era was still vivid to He Shuying. She said: "My father had no money and wasextraordinarilypoor, as were all the central leaders at that time. When I visited the homes of Xi Zhongxun, Lu Dingyi, Hu Qiaomu and Zhou Yangrespectively, Ifound that their clothes as well as food are allreallysimple, just like my father’s.One salient example was thatclothesoftheir familiesarewith patches pressed on top of patches."

In 2006, on the 100th anniversary of Kaifeng's birth, an article in the People's Daily commemorating Kaifengnoted: "Throughout his life, he was steadfast to his ideals, loyal to his cause, bright and open-minded, always full of vigor, and dedicated everything he had to the Party and the people.Hehimselfembodied the noble character and spirituality unique to the Communists".
